November 1, 1995: Top seed David Ozio defeats Walter Ray Williams Jr., 280-238, to capture the $60,000 top prize at the AMF Dick Weber Classic in Richmond, Va. In winning his 11th PBA title, Ozio set a PBA four-game TV scoring record with his 1,070 total (287-268-235-280).


November 1, 1983: Brian Voss wins his first PBA title by besting Pete McCordic, 39-29, in a two-frame roll-off after each tied at 176 in the championship match of the Greater Detroit Open in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.


November 1, 1926: Legendary bowling cartoonist Walt Steinsiek is born.
